Okhla Bird Sanctuary

Okhla Bird Sanctuary (Location ) is a fledgling reserve at the Okhla dam over Yamuna River. It is arranged in Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar, on Delhi-Uttar Pradesh state border and known as an reserve for more than 300 fowl species, particularly waterbirds. The site is situated at the point where the waterway enters Uttar Pradesh. The most noticeable element of the sanctuary is the expansive lake made by damming the stream, which lies between Okhla town toward the west and Gautam Budh Nagar toward the east. The Okhla Bird Sanctuary is approximately 4 square kilometers in size and is arranged at the passage of NOIDA in Gautam Budh Nagar area of Uttar Pradesh. It is arranged at a point where waterway Yamuna enters in the condition of Uttar Pradesh leaving the domain of Delhi. It is one among fifteen bird sanctuaries in the state.

Migratory Birds – Geese, Teal, Coot, Pin-tail, Spot-Bill, Pochard, Pelican, Shovler, Gadwal,s Mallard and many more.

Comb duck, Coots, Lesser whistling teal, Northern pintail, Bar headed goose, Common shell duck, Marbled duck, Pond heron, Open billed stork,  Grey lag goose, Sarus crane, Egrets, Flamingos, Great white pelican, Cormorants, Cranes, White spoonbill, Black naked stork, Peafowl, Cuckoos, Darters, White breasted kingfisher, Sandpipers, Common teal. Gadwall, Mallard, Spot billed duck, Common pilchard, Red crested pochard, Ruddy shelduck, Wigeon, Painted stork, Tufted duck, Tufted pochard, Lesser adjutant, etc.
